July 16, 2024 – The Decatur Family YMCA will host their annual Backpack Attack event on Saturday, August 3, 2024, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Wing eating contest registration to open for Wings and Wheels event at Decatur Airport
June 16, 2024 – Registration for the Wing eating contest at the Wings and Wheels event at the Decatur Airport will open Thursday at 10am. The Wing Eating contest is open for up to 48 contestants to compete in the preliminaries on Saturday. Heats will be held at 2pm, 3:30pm, 5pm and 6:30pm. The top two finishers from each heat will go on to complete in the finals on Sunday at 5pm. Registration is $20 per person and interested competitors can call 217-429-3472 or visit the DISC to register.

Bloomington tells homeless people sleeping along Constitution Trail to relocate
Around 100 people in Bloomington-Normal are unsheltered, according to estimates from a McLean County Housing Coalition. Body of 6-year-old boy recovered from Kankakee River
The body of a 6-year-old boy was recovered from the Kankakee River late Tuesday afternoon, hours after he fell into the river from a dock, according to officials.
