    Loon Country Arts First Saturday Open House for July

    BEMIDJI — Loon Country Arts will be hosting its First Saturday Open House and Grand Opening Celebration Saturday with a Creative Café workshop led by artist Jamie Lee from 10 to noon.

    Join Lee as she leads participants to create note cards using pebble art all at the cost of only $10 per participant.

    The Creative Café Activity is sponsored by Paul Bunyan Communications.

    Register for door prizes that will be given away during the day, enjoy refreshments, and observe various artists at their work.

    From 2 until 4 guests are invited to view the work of artist Brennen Hill which includes photography and water color. Brennen enjoys portraying a variety of subjects including wildlife, nature, and hunting. The Visiting Artist Showcase is sponsored by First National Bank, Bemidji.

    In addition, visit with gallery artists in becoming a participant in the Pathways to Art Program, a new opportunity open to all artists over the age of 13, to mentor with an artist in various mediums. Applications for the program are now available at the gallery or email the president to receive a digital copy at president@looncountryarts.org. The opportunity to apply is open to any artist aged 13 or over, free of charge.

    A series of free art classes as part of its Warm Your Heart With A Little Art promotion continues July 13 from 1 to 3 p.m. The classes include Birdhouse: Embellish a birdhouse and Making art from found objects.

    This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Region 2 Arts council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
