BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- The driver involved in a NE Bend car crash by The Riverhouse that went viral with photos online was arrested on suspicion of DUII, but not before resisting arrest and having to be restrained, police said Friday.

Photos circulated online showing a driver who crashed around 2 p.m. Thursday onto the landscaping outside of The Riverhouse on the Deschutes hotel in Bend.

Police Communications Manager Sheila Miller said officers were dispatched to a possible "rolling domestic" -- a domestic incident in a car - in the area of O.B. Riley Road and Third Street. The driver, a 29-year-old man with a passenger swerved into the oncoming lanes before crashing into the landscaping at The Riverhouse.

Police said they tried to arrest the driver on suspicion of DUII, but he man resisted and had to be restrained for transport to St. Charles Bend for evaluation and a blood draw. The passenger apparently had minor injuries.

The crash and investigation brought a heavy police and fire response, and led to several photos circulating online.
