Cannelton Man Arrested After Standoff
Perry County Sheriff’s Office deputies say a man has been arrested after a brief standoff with police on Saturday. He has been identified as 40-year-old Donald Cronin of Cannelton and he is facing several charges. Cronin was arrested after police received tips on where he was. An armored vehicle was used to get access to the home and he was arrested. Cronin faces several drug-related charges.

Louisville bar on Bardstown Road closed 'effective immediately' after four years
Afrokanza Lounge on Bardstown Road announced Monday on Instagram it is closing "effective immediately" after four years of serving the Louisville community. "It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Afrokanza Lounge effective immediately. After four years of serving the community, we have made the difficult decision to close our doors," Afrokanza said in a social post.

Downtown Louisville skyscraper repossessed after defaulting on $28 million loan
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A judge recently placed a Louisville skyscraper in a receivership after its owners defaulted on a $28 million loan, according to new court documents. A lawsuit was filed in June by lender Wilmington Trust National Association in Jefferson County Circuit Court, and accused the owners of the Meidinger Tower of failing to make a monthly payment of $142,204.82 last November. The plaintiffs also claim the owners have not made a payment in any subsequent month.
