Travelers driving I-79 on Monday (Aug. 26) near Weston, W.V., may be treated to a caravan of corvettes making their way to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Ky.

While en route, a group of about 300 corvettes is expected to make a pit stop at
Stonewall Resort between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., according to a press release. The public is invited to attend and view the cars.

Guests visiting the resort are asked to park at the Roanoke Event Center. From there, a shuttle service will be provided to the Lodge parking lot to view the collection of Corvettes.

Prior to the stop in Lewis County, The annual Corvettes at Carlisle is scheduled for Aug. 22-24 at the Carlisle, Pa. Fairgrounds. According to the Website Carlisleevents.com, organizers say the event is expected to draw about 5,000 corvettes, spanning all eras of production, from around the globe. Top engineers, project specialists and other Chevrolet team members will be onsite to talk about designs and other upcoming projects. A part shopping experience will also be provided with an automotive flea market featuring a wide variety of vendors.

At the event in Carlisle, the new Corvette ZR1 will also be showcased. The ZR1 was recently unveiled July 25 at an event in Miami and has been confirmed to be at the show.

Following the event in Carlisle, a group of about 300 corvettes is expected to travel in a caravan to visit The National Corvette Museum's 30th Anniversary celebration scheduled for Labor Day weekend. The museum is located near the General Motors' Bowling Green Assembly Plant. The stop at Stonewall Resort is on the way.

Stonewall Resort is located at 940 Resort Drive, Roanoke, W.V., 26447. For more information or to make a reservation call 304-269-8825 or 888-278-8150.
