Mya Hollingshed to represent Puerto Rico in Paris Olympics
Colorado Buffaloes women’s basketball great Mya Hollingshed will play for the Puerto Rico women’s basketball team in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Listed at 6-foot-3, Hollingshed was a dominant two-way forward during her five seasons at CU, averaging 11.9 points and 6.5 rebounds per game on 43.7% shooting from the field and 33.9% from deep. Hollingshed was drafted eighth overall in the 2022 WNBA draft by the Las Vegas Aces but was waived before the season started. She was later signed by Sassari of the Italian Serie A1 league. Hollingshed joined Team Puerto Rico in the 2022 FIBA Women’s World Cup and helped lead the team to its first-ever quarterfinal before falling to Canada. This will be Puerto Rico women’s basketball’s second time playing in the Summer Olympics after debuting in the Tokyo Games in 2021. Hopefully, Hollingshed can help Puerto Rico women’s basketball to its first-ever Olympic win.
