Local Food Pantry In Crisis: Help Raise Money To Prevent Shutdown
A food pantry in Cedar Rapids that serves thousands may soon close if it doesn't receive some financial help. CBS2 reports that Together We Achieve, a food pantry in Cedar Rapids is on the brink of closure. That would leave thousands of local residents without access to food. The food bank has distributed over 2 million pounds of food but faces an uncertain future. It needs to raise $50,000 by August 31st to remain operational through the end of this year.

From Water Department Superintendent Adam Theiss: The City Beach Splash Pad will remain open, and we will go week to week weather permitting. We do realize school has started but we still have a lot of usage at this time as the temperatures stay warm. We will give it a few more weeks giving us plenty of time for end of the year shut down and maintenance.
Iowa Utilities Commission issues pipeline permit for Summit Carbon Solutions
(Des Moines) The Iowa Utilities Commission has issued a construction permit for Summit Carbon Solutions’ proposed hazardous liquid pipeline across Iowa. The commission’s decision on Wednesday was not unexpected given a June 25 order in which the panel issued a final decision approving the project while requiring Summit Carbon to submit numerous filings demonstrating compliance with regulatory requirements before a construction permit would be issued.
