ROCKINGHAM — A South Carolina man is accused by his now-former Richmond County employer of multiple unauthorized purchases.

According to a social media post by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, 34-year-old Jordan Daniel Driggers, of Bennettsville, South Carolina, was arrested July 18 as part of an ongoing investigation.

Investigators say Driggers’ former employer, not named in the post, “filed a report of fuel being purchased unauthorized or stolen over a period of time.”

No other details of the alleged crime were given in the July 24 Facebook post.

According to the post, Driggers is charged with 17 felony counts of larceny by an employee.

Court records show Driggers has another case involving a single count of the same charge.

Driggers was reportedly released on a $25,000 unsecured bond and is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 1. His next court date for the single count is Oct. 3.

Records appear to show Driggers has no other pending charges nor prior convictions in North Carolina. A quick view of court records in South Carolina only show citations for speeding in two counties.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
