Cross Country Opens 2024 Season at Keene State Alumni Meet
KEENE, N.H (August 31, 2024) – The Beacons Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams opened their season at the Keene State Alumni Meet from Keene, N.H. Senior Cody Wittcum led the men's team with a 22nd overall finish in 17:18.1 (5:34 mile-split) out of 75 other competitors. Following Wittcum was junior Robert Cannon, who crossed the 5k course finish line at 17:29.3 (5:37.7 mile pace) and finished 29th out of the field.

Turf field renovations complete in time for NEC field hockey opening games
The New England College field hockey team will open up the 2024 season this weekend on the newly returfed Don Melander field. This weekend will be the first time any team will play or practice on the field after a summer renovation project that took longer than expected. According to field hockey players, while construction continued into the first week of classes, there were contingency plans to hold the first home game tournament in an alternative location. The field was completed late in the week, bringing the games back to NEC.
