A former administrator and ice hockey team manager for a private Bensalem Catholic boys high school has been terminated after an internal investigation found he should no longer be working there.

In a July 23 letter to parents and alumni, Holy Ghost Preparatory president and its principal also confirmed the school is cooperating with Middletown Township police and the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office who have opened a criminal investigation into misconduct allegations against Ryan Abramson.

As of Tuesday no criminal charges had been filed, according to the court docket.

Abramson, a 1994 Holy Ghost graduate, served as the school’s director of admissions and marketing. He also managed the school’s ice hockey program and taught a sophomore public communications class, according to a biography on the Association of Independent School Admission Professionals.

The letter did not state when Abramson was terminated, but online references to him have been scrubbed from the school’s website and social media as of Tuesday.

Abramson was an employee 27 years, a spokesman for the Bensalem private school said.

Abramson was placed on administrative leave in April after an allegation of sexual misconduct was made against him by a graduate dating back more than 20 years.

After the allegations surfaced, the school conducted an internal investigation and assessment which included retaining an attorney experienced in these types of cases, the school wrote in the letter.

“As a result of this comprehensive assessment, we have concluded that Mr. Abramson should no longer work at Holy Ghost Prep, and his employment has been terminated,” the letter said.

No other details about the internal probe were released, but the letter indicated the school is conducting a “complete review of our policies.” The letter did not specify what policies are being looked at.

“Holy Ghost Prep is resolute in our overriding commitment to protect every young man in our care. We are unwavering in our commitment to the safety and well-being of our students,” the letter said.
