Gov. Walz encourages applications to three programs for new farmers
(Pine Island, MN)--Gov. Tim Walz wants new farmers to take advantage of three state programs to help them get started in agriculture. The governor was in Pine Island this week to talk about the need to get more young people interested in farming. Walz said the state will begin accepting applications for the beginning farmer loan program, the down payment assistance program and the beginning farmer tax credit on August 1st.

Approximately five acres of land near St. Anthony Falls in Minneapolis will go back to the Dakota community with plans to restore its significance to the area’s four tribes.
