Church Rock man pleads guilty to charges for shooting at police in New Mexico
MCKINLEY COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – A Church Rock man has pleaded guilty in federal court to charges related to an attack on law enforcement officers on the Navajo Nation. Elijah Touchine, 24, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, shot at officers from the Navajo Police Department and New Mexico State Police in July 2023. Law enforcement attempted to find Touchine in a canyon but had to end the search after twelve hours due to dark conditions.

New Albuquerque detox center offers aid to young adults
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at the new Serenity Mesa Adolescent Detox Center in northwest Albuquerque. The facility will provide transitional housing for people 14-21 years old struggling with drug addiction. Additionally, Serenity Mesa offers a rental assistance program for youth 17-24 years old who are experiencing homelessness.
