Concerts at the Corner Music Series at Mark Arts
Mark Arts is hosting Concerts at the Corner this Fall, a three-week concert series featuring local and regional musicians. Tickets are reasonable at $3 for Mark Arts members and $5 for General Public. The series will be held outside in the Mark Arts sculpture garden and is open to the public. The venue will also offer food options, the Xclusive mobile bar, and kids’ activities.

WICHITA, Kan. — The annual Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference football media day is set for Friday, July 26th, at Riverfront Stadium in downtown Wichita. Head coaches from all seven KJCCC football-playing institutions will be present at the event which will get underway inside the Fidelity Bank Room at 11:30 AM with a meet and greet portion followed by lunch at 12 PM. The press conference will begin at 12:30 PM with KJCCC Commissioner Mike Saddler briefing attendees on matters concerning the conference and the upcoming season. Each head coach will be given the chance to speak about their team for the upcoming year followed by an opportunity for all media in attendance to ask any questions. Emceeing the event for the second-straight year is Pat Strathman, sports director and assistant program director at ESPN Wichita 92.3 FM.

God’s grace brings university chaplain back home
Father Edmund “Ed” Herzog, Newman’s chaplain, may be a new face to some people in the Newman community, but he is certainly no stranger to the university. Herzog attended Newman University from 2007-2011 and was confirmed in St. John’s Chapel on campus in 2009. Now, 17 years later, he returns to lead Campus Ministry and guide students through formation, stewardship and leading Mass. Prior to Herzog’s new assignment, he was the chaplain of Bishop Carroll Catholic High School for six years.
