Midland school board approves superintendent performance objectives
The Midland Public Schools board of education spent the majority of its 75-minute regular meeting on Monday in a closed session discussing litigation. The closed session lasted about 50 minutes and was the final item on the agenda before the adjournment. The agenda said the closed session was a "Consultation with legal counsel regarding pending litigation as permitted under MCL 15.268 section 8 (e)."

Demolition of the old Greater Midland Community Center, at 2205 Jefferson, continues on July 16. The building, originally constructed in 1955, was closed when a new Community Center opened next door on May 15. The old building will give way to a new parking lot.
Coleman Community Schools expands bus service to city residents
Students who live in the Coleman city limits will now be able to ride the bus to school, starting Aug. 20 when the 2024-25 school year begins.
