VFW 1075 Hosts Another Successful Car, Truck and Bike Show
HARRISON – This year’s VFW 1075 Car, Bike and Truck Show held Saturday, July 6, was once again participant rich, similar to last year’s event. While not all of the pre-registered 29 participants showed up on the day, others just dropped in without prior registration, which brought that number back up. So, all in all, 29 owners were onsite showing off their pride-and-joy vehicles.

BAY CITY, MI – Safety is the reasoning behind a recommendation to ban parking on a road on the city’s West Side. A proposed traffic control order that will be broached at the city commissioners’ Monday, July 15, meeting, would prohibit parking on both sides of John F. Kennedy Drive, from the Veterans Memorial Bridge to the north side of the boat ramp access road.

Apple Mountain Golf Club hosting 10th GAM Super Senior Championship
FREELAND – Apple Mountain Golf Club, a host of several GAM tournaments in recent years, will welcome some of them back when the 10th GAM Super Senior Championship is hosted by the popular course Monday and Tuesday, July 15-16. A field of 80 GAM golfers ages 65-and-over will compete in the 36-hole stroke play championship, which crowns an overall Super Senior champion and presents a Legends Division for golfers ages 70-and-over. In addition, a Grand Legend award is presented to the player over age 75 with the lowest score.

He was born on August 19, 1951, in Clare, MI to Wilfred and Dorrene (Pearson) Henry. He lived in West Branch for the past 45 years formerly of Harrison, MI.

Pamela Irene Ronquillo, age 76, of Harrison passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024, at her home under the care of Heartland Hospice. Funeral Services for Pam will be held at Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 2 p.m. with Benjamen Evers officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Plain Cemetery. A Luncheon will take place at the Moose Lodge following the Committal Service. The family will receive friends the day of the service from 12 noon until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Gladys is survived by her husband Philip (Jimmy) Mundy; her son Tim Mundy (wife Debbie Tal), her daughter Doreen Mundy Lefferts (husband John Leffert); her grandchildren Jessica Greer, Nicholas Lefferts, Samantha Mundy, Andrew Lefferts and Olivia Lefferts and Leor Tal and her great grandchildren Jane Lefferts, Arthur Greer and Henry Lefferts, whom she loved with all her heart.
MyMichigan Medical Center Clare Breaks Ground On New Expansion
MyMichigan Medical Center Clare officially broke ground on a new 51,000 square foot expansion and revitalization project Tuesday. The project comes in two phases, with the first including construction of a new two-story section to house a new Emergency Department, new Inpatient Unit with all private rooms, and an expanded Imaging Department, including a fixed MRI Unit. Access to the Medical Center for 24/7 outpatient services, including lab, X-ray and CT imaging, will also be improved.
