Public Art Passport Exhibition supported by $3,000 grant
The Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum, located on the campus of Saginaw Valley State University, received a grant award of $3,000 from the Bay Area Community Foundation for the support of three temporary public art installations in Bay County as part of the 2024 Public Art Passport Exhibition, as well as public programming in conjunction with Public Art Passport.

Carl Priemer, age 82, of Beaverton, passed away on July 11, 2024. He was born on September 20, 1941, the son of Adolph and Louise (Schroder) Priemer in Detroit. On February 5, 1982, he married Maxine Spangler in Gladwin. He worked for Michigan Bell and owned Priemer Excavating in Beaverton. As owner of Priemer Excavating, Carl worked as a sexton for several townships in Gladwin County.

Apple Mountain Golf Club hosting 10th GAM Super Senior Championship
FREELAND – Apple Mountain Golf Club, a host of several GAM tournaments in recent years, will welcome some of them back when the 10th GAM Super Senior Championship is hosted by the popular course Monday and Tuesday, July 15-16. A field of 80 GAM golfers ages 65-and-over will compete in the 36-hole stroke play championship, which crowns an overall Super Senior champion and presents a Legends Division for golfers ages 70-and-over.
