Throwback: 1913 goodwill trip between Midland, Coleman
Midland businessmen made the 20-plus-mile trek to Coleman in 1913 for a goodwill trip. The Midlanders were greeted at Railway and Fourth streets by Coleman Mayor George Kent and his son Ray along with a goat, a fife and drum band and a gathering of townspeople. Local Midland businessmen included Ike Holstrom, James J. Savage (real estate), Harmon L. Fairchild (lawyer) and August (Gus) Wenzel (hardware).
