Stover Motorcyclist Injured in Benton County
A Stover man was injured in a motorcycle accident that occurred Tuesday evening in Benton County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound 2003 Honda VTX, driven by 45-year-old Richard W. Lee of Stover, was on Route WW, west of Brushy Chapel Avenue around 7:20 p.m., when Lee said he struck an animal in the roadway and the bike overturned, ejecting the rider.

Warrensburg man drowns in Henry County mowing mishap. Brent L. Carroll, 20, was killed at 2:40 p.m. Friday in Henry County accident. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Carroll was driving a Bad Boy lawn mower near NE 595 Private Road in performance of work duties and was operating at the highest point of an embankment when the vehicle lost traction and slid sideways down the embankment towards the pond. The vehicle's wheel dug into the ground at the edge of the bank causing the vehicle to overturn onto its top.
Pennsylvania woman seriously injured in crash south of Warsaw
A Pennsylvania woman suffers serious injuries when she wrecks her car in Benton County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Laurrel Healey, 24, of Butler, Pennsylvania, was driving on Highway 65 about five miles southeast of Warsaw Tuesday morning just before 5 a.m. when the accident occurred. The patrol says Healey ran off the right side of the road and struck a culvert.
Two Fatal Drowning Incidents in the Area
2 fatal drownings took place in the area last week according to Missouri Highway Patrol. The first was in Benton county on wednesday, June 26th, at 7:29 pm. Skyler Lewis,31, of Gravois Mills. Lewis waded in to Truman Lake to retrieve a snagged net and drowned. The second incident occured on Friday, June 28th in . Missouri Highway Patrol along with the Henry County Sheriff’s and First responders were called to the Calhoun area after an accident occured when Brent L Carroll, 20, of Warrensburg, had a rollover accident involving the lawnmower that he was operating. Carroll, who was mowing an embankment of a pond on the property when the mower lost traction and rolled over with Carroll. The mower came to rest in the pond on top of the worker. He was pinned under the equipment. First responders arrived and freed him and started CPR but Mr Carroll was not responsive.

A Warsaw teenager was injured in a one vehicle accident on Poorboy Road east of Pompano Lane in Benton County on June 20 at 7:10 PM. The crash occurred as a 2007 Nissan Altima driven by Grace E. Drake. 18, of Warsaw, travelled off the right side of the roadway and struck a ditch.
Shriners Support Salvation Army With Big Monetary Donation
WARSAW SHRINE CLUB donated $6,000.00 to the Benton County Salvation Army to aid in their summer meals for Benton County kids project. Lauren Watnik, Cheryl Elliott, Kathy Sullins and Terri Watson all represented the local Salvation Army and accepted the check on it's behalf. Benton County man faces multiple child sex crimes after hotline call is made
A Benton County man is charged with multiple child sex crimes as the result of a hotline call to the Missouri Department of Family Services. Richard Burnham, of Warsaw, is charged with two counts of statutory sodomy of a child under the age of 14, two counts of third-degree child molestation, and two counts of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child. He’s being held on $250,000 bond.
