Biggers, Elliott named to MASS Board of Directors
JACKSON ― Dr. Regina Biggers, superintendent of the Benton County School District, and Tony Elliott, superintendent of the South Tippah School District, both have been elected to the Mississippi Association of School Superintendents’ board of directors. Independence Day may not officially be here until Thursday, but several communities in Tippah and Benton County have already held their Fourth of July events, lighting up the night sky with fireworks and drawing hundreds of residents to celebrate the United States’ 248th birthday, nearly a quarter of a millennium since the United States declared independence from Great Britain.
RECIPE OF THE WEEK: Donna Woods’ Chicken Pot Pie
This week I have another great recipe from the Holly Springs Garden Club recipe book called “Just Roll With It”. The book has lots of recipes from local folks even from Benton County. Donna Woods was raised in Benton County and graduated from Ashland High but has since made Holly Springs her home. The recipe was submitted by her friend Sherry Childers who also has Benton County ties. Sometimes chicken pot pie can be a little complicated to make but Donna’s version is easy and delicious.
