Sewer Mains Being Cleaned in Peosta
Peosta officials have announced that Kruser Septic Service is cleaning sewer mains in the city throughout this week and next. Residents may “experience a gurgling sound in toilets” when workers are in their area. Officials recommend keeping toilet lids shut. Work has begun in Oak Park Estates, Peosta Acres, Gingerbread and Kelly Oaks Park neighborhoods. Additional updates will be provided on the city’s Facebook page.
Braves runner-up at Zwingle Tournament
On Saturday July 13, the Bellevue Braves faced Epworth in the Zwingle Baseball Tournament and came away with a 3-2 victory. The Braves took the early lead when in the first Andrew Swartz singled, and Ethan Hefel proceeded to drive him in with a triple. In the third Hefel was hit by a pitch, then scored on a Chet Knake double. The next batter up was Cole Swartz who drove in Knake with a single. That was all Braves' right-hander Jordan Nelson would need as he scattered four hits while fanning seven. Mitch Roeder took the loss for Epworth.
