BENTONVILLE, Ark (KNWA/KFTA) — The Bentonville Planning Commission has approved a large-scale housing development.

It voted on Tuesday to approve “NWA Townhomes” which is planned to be on 14 acres between Been and Southwest Featherston Roads on the southwest side of the city.

City Planning Director Tyler Overstreet said that once finished, the project will yield 84 townhomes and the development is a way to provide a variety of housing for the city.

“Providing for a variety of types of housing, for a variety of people at a variety of stages of life is something that our plans for some time have said are important,” Overstreet said.

Overstreet said building a variety of housing types is something that has been talked about in the current ‘Plan Bentonville’ which is an update to the city’s future land use map.
