An artist’s talk will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on June 26. </p><p> Laura Miller shares her zest for life through her work as she explores color and sculptural forms. Her work covers a range of subjects from light-filled landscapes and street scenes to close-up portraits of characterful animals to energetic abstractions. </p><p> Miller grew up in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, drawing and painting from an early age. While she had a desire to attend an art college, she instead studied business management and accounting. Looking for a more creative outlet, Miller earned her cosmetology license but found that was not a great fit either. A mentor helped her find her love for art once again, though life would throw some new twists and turns her way, and she put down her paintbrush for long periods between stints of painting landscapes and rural scenes. Always exploring new ground, Miller became an EMT at the age of 45. Today, Miller has found new inspiration in her creative work – bright colors, bold designs, oversized canvases. She describes her new painting style as “fluid – relaxed, yet bold… with a wide range of colors.” She says that her paintings “feed my soul. I hope they feed yours, also.” </p><p> Miller lives in Frankfort and still works part-time as an&nbsp;EMT, enjoying helping people between her creative explorations in painting and sculpture.
