Plans for the property also include a bathhouse, dog park, gym, manager's residence and saunas. Several structures already on the property, such as a barn and shed, will be used for the proposed campground as well. <a href="https://www.crystallaketwp.org/uploads/1/1/7/1/117136988/_2024-slu-01_001-021-00_camp_nearby_app___narrative__1_.pdf" rel="nofollow"> The application </a> was submitted by Mansfield Land Use Consultants on behalf of Elizabeth and Michael Heintzleman, of New York. The proposed campground is called Camp Nearby. Township zoning administrator Tom Kucera said the applicants are working on a revised site plan. "It has not been presented yet, so I don't know much more," he said. Kucera said he does not know whether the applicants have a new site plan&nbsp;ready for presentation at the&nbsp;Aug. 28 planning commission meeting. The site plans <a href="https://www.recordpatriot.com/news/article/proposed-northern-michigan-campground-raises-19422779.php" rel="nofollow"> were brought before the township board of trustees </a> and the public in an April planning commission meeting. At the meeting, Doug Mansfield, president of Mansfield Land Use Consultants, gave a presentation on the proposal&nbsp;and took questions from the public. During the meeting, <a href="https://www.recordpatriot.com/news/article/proposed-northern-michigan-campground-raises-19422779.php" rel="nofollow"> members of the public voiced their concerns </a> about the impact the campground could have on the surrounding properties and public resources like access points at Crystal Lake. Traffic, campsite density, noise pollution and campfire smoke were the main concerns. Residents of the township also questioned how the campsite's water infrastructure would affect nearby water tables. Mansfield said the applicants were willing to work with neighboring landowners and the township. He also said campgrounds were a permitted special use, and state law required the township to approve the plans if they meet requirements. </div></body>
