According to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department, on Thursday, August 1, a routine traffic stop by Deputy Kolb led to multiple drug arrests.

At approximately 4:30 PM, Deputy Kolb pulled over a 2008 Honda Civic on WV Route 9 for a traffic infraction.

During the stop, indicators of potential drug trafficking prompted Deputy Kolb to employ his K9 partner, Hugo, who detected the presence of drugs in the vehicle.

A subsequent search of the car revealed 158 caps of suspected fentanyl in the trunk.

Additionally, Deputy Kolb found two individual vials and three baggies of suspected crack cocaine, along with two small baggies containing a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine.

The three occupants of the vehicle were identified as Jack Steve McFarlan, 38, of Martinsburg, WV; Tiffany Leigh Shirley, 36, of Bunker Hill, WV; and Amber Dawn Whitt, 32, of Paw Paw, WV.

During the investigation, it was discovered that McFarlan had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Whitt initially provided a false name to law enforcement, but upon positive identification, it was found she had outstanding warrants through both the Berkeley County Circuit Court and Berkeley County Magistrate Court.

Additionally, Whitt was wanted for an extraditable felony offense from Winchester, Virginia.

McFarlan and Whitt were both arrested for their outstanding warrants, and all three occupants were charged with possession with intent to deliver controlled dangerous substances.
