BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - The Board of Education has scheduled a Special Meeting for Thursday, July 25, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will take place at Gov. Livingston High School, located at 175 Watchung Blvd, Berkeley Heights.
The primary purpose of this Special Meeting is for the Board to vote on and discuss personnel resolutions.
While there has not been a formal announcement regarding Athletic Director Ann Clifton's retirement or resignation, there is speculation that she has given her notice effective August 30. Notably, the district's website posted a job opening on July 10 for the Director of Health, Physical Education, and Athletics (anticipated), as well as an Interim Director of Health, Physical Education, and Athletics (anticipated). The position is slated to be available starting August 18, 2024, at Gov. Livingston High School.
Additionally, several new business items will be on the agenda, including:
Prism Club: Discussion and possible action regarding the Prism Club.
Lower Columbia Field Use Agreement: Review and potential approval of the field use agreement.
A. Are all OPRA requests received by BHPSNJ routed to the attorneys?
B. Does the district maintain an OPRA log?
C. Redaction process for OPRA requests: Who handles redactions, and is it managed by the business office?
OPMA: Examination of the process for how BHPSNJ handles decisions made between board meetings.
The meeting will commence in public at 6:30 p.m. in the Gov. Livingston High School Cafeteria before the Board convenes into executive session to discuss personnel matters. Formal action will be taken during this meeting.
Community members are encouraged to attend and participate in this important session. For more information, please visit the Board of Education's official website .
