Schuylkill Valley School Board doesn’t raise taxes despite concerns about Berks youth shelter costs
Despite concerns about the costs a new Berks County-run youth shelter in Bern Township will create, the Schuylkill Valley School Board will not raise property taxes. In passing the district’s $47.5 million budget for the 2024-25 school year on Monday, the board kept the district’s tax rate at 27.82 mills. The budget and rate were approved 8-1, with Daniel Weyandt voting no.
