Man charged in murder of father
CHESTER — A Chester man has been arrested in connection with the murder of his father. The Queen Anne's County Office of the Sheriff's Criminal Investigation Unit arrested Drew Bernard Meyer, 32, of Chester, charging him with first degree murder in the death of his father, Wayne Michael Meyer, 65, also of Chester. According to police reports, on May 17, deputies were dispatched to Auckland Way in Chester, for a report of a cardiac arrest. Upon arrival, deputies found Wayne Meyer deceased under "suspicious circumstances." ...

Nearly $370,000 in grants will support several heritage nonprofits in the tri-county area, including the Henry Hotel Foundation and the Museum of Ocean City. Last Friday, Gov. Wes Moore announced the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority (MHAA) had awarded 87 matching grants totaling $5.19 million to nonprofits, local jurisdictions and heritage tourism organizations throughout the state. Among the recipients are five Worcester-based nonprofits, which will use the funds to support management activities and capital projects for the coming fiscal year.
