    Driver airlifted to hospital after crash in Bernardston

    BERNARDSTON, Mass. (WWLP) – A driver was taken to the hospital in a medical helicopter after a crash in Bernardston.

    According to the Bernardston Fire Department, on Sunday at 11:13 p.m., crews were sent to Eden Trail over the Bernardston/Leyden line for a reported accident, with a car in a tree with the driver unresponsive.

    When crews arrived, a passerby who witnessed the accident helped the driver out of the car. The driver was airlifted to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, but their current condition is unknown.

    The Bernardston Police Department will be investigating the accident.
