BERNARDSVILLE, NJ - Main Street Bernardsville hosted a successful networking event Wednesday evening at The Bernie , tucked inside The Bernards Inn, where local business leaders had the opportunity to mingle and enjoy a delicious spread of food and cocktails. Mayor Mary Jane Canose attended the event, engaging with each guest to foster connections within the community.

"The reason we're all here tonight is to gain more support for the Main Street community because we have gone through a reorganization," Dr. Horman said. "Our goal is to promote and improve Bernardsville because when Bernardsville thrives, we all benefit."

Dr. Horman acknowledged the challenges faced during the reorganization and the loss of some members. He appealed to attendees for their support and involvement. "I know with the people in this room, we can make this community the best it can be. We need your help and support. We have different committees where your strengths can meet our needs."

Main Street Bernardsville currently has about 10 volunteers and six board members. The organization consists of four committees: Design, Economic Vitality, Promotions, and Organization. "These committees all have chairpeople who would love more help. It's not a heavy lift, but it's crucial for improving the business environment and economy in Bernardsville," said Dr. Horman.

Dr. Wallace also addressed the attendees, emphasizing the need for community support. "We need your help. Olivia Manning, who ran this for many years, did a fabulous job. The events and community activities over the last four or five years, such as movie nights and parades, have brought people together."

He highlighted the importance of making Bernardsville a destination. "We want people to keep coming back to our town. With our amazing restaurants and events, we can attract more visitors. But we can't do it alone. We need more volunteers to share the workload."

Dr. Wallace explained that most volunteers meet once a month for an hour, with some work in between. "If we all do a little, it makes a big difference. We’d love for you to join us in some capacity to help."

The event underscored Main Street Bernardsville’s dedication to revitalizing the town and the collective effort needed to achieve this goal.
