That, of course, was Lve Aid at JFK Stadium in South Philly on July 13th of 1985. They also did a surprise warm-up gig at the old Chestnut Cabaret at 38th and Chestnut Streets that week in ’85 to prepare for Live Aid. They hadn’t performed together in several months, and there was no one playing there that night. They book the room at the last minute and didn’t announce the show, but the word got out and there was a line around the block!
Contractor in 30th Street Station restoration project charged in bribery scheme
An executive for a company involved in the restoration of 30th Street Station was charged Wednesday in an alleged bribery scheme tied to the project. Lee Maniatis, chief operating officer of MARK 1 Restoration in Dolton, Illinois, allegedly offered trips, an $11,000 watch, a $2,000 steakhouse meal and a dog to Amtrak official Ajith Bhaskaran, who was overseeing the project. In exchange, prosectutors allege Bhaskaran approved inflated invoices submitted by Maniatis and others, over-billing Amtrak throughout the project.

Wanted: Leiber Manrique Accused Killer Of Omar Gaitan
Leiber Manrique, 53, is wanted for the July 15 killing of Omar Gaitan of the 700 block of Knorr Street, authorities said in a release. Gaitan was sitting in his Honda CRV when he was shot in the face on the 500 block of West Ruscomb Street, according to investigators. The 67-year-old was found just after midnight and taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries around 1 a.m., police said.
