Filing closed at noon for two seats on the Bertie County Board of Education and one on the N.C. Soil and Water Conservation District Board.

Only one of the three seats will see a contested race, according to information from the Bertie County Board of Elections.

That will come in District 1 for the school board where one-term incumbent Reba Cooper Carlton has filed for a second term and will be opposed by Windsor resident Regina B. Harmon.

The other seat available in November is that of District 5 and only incumbent Tarsha Bush Dudley has filed for the post. She is seeking re-election unopposed.

The same is true for the position of Bertie Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor. Incumbent John M. Griffin of Lewiston Woodville is unopposed in his bid to seek the seat.

Filing closed at noon on Friday, July 5.
