ECU Health Bertie Hospital recently awarded sixteen (16) area programs $95,000 in grant funds through its Community Benefit Grants Program.

ECU Health Bertie Hospital presented checks to 16 agencies at its annual Community Benefit Grants Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, July 30.

The organizations awarded funds provide programs and offer services that align with ECU Health’s mission to improve the health and well-being of eastern North Carolina.

“ECU Health Bertie Hospital is proud to provide funds for our Community Benefit Grants and to these deserving non-profits,” stated Jennifer Harriss, ECU Health Bertie Hospital Development Manager. “These worthy organizations reach many citizens in our communities through health education, wellness, and prevention.”

“We are grateful for the wonderful work these non-profit groups do to help community members get healthy and stay healthy,” stated Brian Harvill, President of ECU Health Bertie Hospital. “Over 25,000 area residents will benefit from the various programs and services offered by these grantees.”

Harvill noted that he is proud to work with ECU Health because of its dedication in supporting area non-profits.

This year’s grantees include the counties of Bertie and Martin. Albemarle Area United Way, Ripe For Revival, North Carolina MedAssist, and Bertie County Rural Health Association are just a few examples of award winners.
