Officials with Hill Country Humane Society are hosting free vaccination clinics to stave off potential outbreaks in debilitating and sometimes deadly diseases.

The program comes on the heels of positive distemper cases in the county.

The next free pet vaccine clinics are:

• Saturday, July 13 at Bertram Elementary School, 315 Main St, Bertram from 9 a.m. to noon; and

• Wednesday, July 17 at the Llano baseball/softball fields, 1550 W. RM 152 just outside Llano from 9 a.m. to noon.

The event is a drive-through clinic. Vaccines offered include DHPPv: Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza, Rabies: One-year vaccine with certificate and FCP: Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia.

Pets must stay in the vehicle; bring water to ensure pets stay hydrated. Keep cats safe and secure by transporting them in a carrier. No appointment is needed.
