LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL News) - Hyundai vehicle owners in Louisiana may need to check their fuel pumps after a recall notice from the company that impacts nearly 55,000 vehicles. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the automotive company is recalling certain 2019-2023 models of Genesis G70, Veloster N, Elantra N, and Kona N because of problems with the fuel delivery system.

Northside hires familiar face to take over its boys basketball program
The Northside boys basketball program will be led by a familiar face this upcoming season, after rehiring Ross Rix to be their head coach. Rix, who had spent the past two seasons at JS Clark serving in the same capacity as well as the Bulldogs' athletic director, was the Vikings head coach from 2014-18.
Free Concealed Carry Courses Scheduled for September
Sheriff Craig Webre announced the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office will host two free concealed carry courses on Saturdays in September. The courses will be held on September 7 and 21, 2024, at the LPSO Shooting Range at 3451 Highway 182 in Raceland. The free informational course will cover gun safety, storage, liability, and prohibited carrying locations. Residents are encouraged to take the training if they intend to carry a concealed firearm without a permit, also known as “constitutional carry.”
