Bethany Village concerts kick off Thursday with Baz Moto

Bethany Village will continue its traditional summer concert series starting Thursday, July 11, with Baz Moto.

The high-energy cover band performs from 6 to 9 p.m. at the shopping complex.

Intermission acts include a 7:30 p.m. performance by JAMS of Portland, featuring young people who will demonstrate their talents learned at the award-winning abacus math school .

The JAMS performance will be followed by a 7:45 p.m. pie-eating contest. Those who wish to participate should venture near the stage before starting time.

Pony rides, a swing and a bounce house will be available at the venue as well with the purchase of cash-only tickets.

Then, concerts will continue from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 25, with a performance by Steve Hale. A singer/songwriter with a soul edge, Hale performs his brand of “blue-eyed-soul-Americana-pop" — think Michael Bublé, Sam Cooke and others.

A final concert is set for Thursday, Aug. 8, with the Powell Brothers Jam Band. Their 6 to 9 p.m. appearance will include the brothers’ take on Americana, blues, folk, jam and rock. This will be the first performance at Bethany Village for the Silverton-based band.

The concerts have been a Bethany Village staple for almost two decades. Bethany Village is located at Northwest Central Drive and Bethany Boulevard.
