Greenwich ‘PowerSmart’ Home Battery Campaign Hosts Info Session
The Greenwich Energy Management Advisory Committee (EMAC) is partnering with SmartPower, the non-profit marketing organization dedicated to promoting clean energy and energy efficiency, to help local homeowners learn about Connecticut’s specially incentivized “solar+storage” program. EMAC is hosting a special PowerSmart Greenwich Virtual Info Session on July 23 to explain how a home battery system can be paired with a new or existing residential solar array to provide clean, quiet power at night and especially during a power outage, and how various financial resources can be accessed. This webinar will feature a local solar system and battery storage installer to provide additional “how do you do it” information for interested homeowners.

Ride to End Cancer Cruises Through Somers
SOMERS, N.Y. - Anyone driving past Somers Middle School and Somers Intermediate School on Sunday, July 21, would believe Somers had been invaded. The field separating the schools was transformed into a mass of tents and a sea of cycles. Over 375 cyclists on the Empire State Ride to End Cancer concluded the first day of a seven-day, 500+ mile adventure from New York City to Niagara Falls that raises funds for cancer research. The riders, many of whom were cancer survivors and supported by an army of volunteers, began the day in Staten Island, ferried to Manhattan and wound their way to Somers.
