UPDATED 11:46 a.m. EST — CNN is reporting Thomas Matthew Crooks, the 20-year-old shooter at former President Donald Trump’s Saturday rally, had explosive material inside his car and residence.

The report from CNN cited multiple law enforcement sources, noting that the shooter is also believed to have fired multiple shots from a building rooftop just outside the rally venue before he was “neutralized” by the Secret Service.

The gun was used in determining the shooter’s identity, as he did not have identification on him, law enforcement shared.

Original story — Former President Donald Trump, the presumptive GOP presidential candidate, was injured in a shooting event at a Pennsylvania campaign rally Saturday that included one fatality.

Here’s what we know about the suspected shooter so far:

The FBI has identified the shooter as 20-year-old Pennsylvania man Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park.

The gunman was immediately “neutralized” by the Secret Service, according to the agency’s chief of communications, Anthony Gugliemi.

NBC News reports that Pennsylvania voter records have the identified shooter listed with the same address and birth date as a registered Republican. However, the records did not share when that was put in place.

No motive for the shooting is currently known, though law enforcement said on Saturday night that investigators were prioritizing it, as well as finding out if he had accomplices.

This is a breaking story that will be updated as more information becomes available.
