Musikfest adds new satellite parking lot and shuttle option

A new satellite parking lot will let people attend Musikfest without having to drive into Bethlehem.

The remote lot, on the Penn State-Lehigh Valley campus at 2809 Saucon Valley Road, Upper Saucon Township, offers festivalgoers another way to get to and from the nation’s largest free music festival by way of shuttles provided by Trans-Bridge.

“Making the festival more accessible just got easier with the convenience of this new Center Valley lot,” ArtsQuest President and CEO Kassie Hilgert said in a statement. “Park your car, get on a Trans-Bridge shuttle and arrive at Musikfest, ready for a fantastic festival experience.”

“We are looking forward to another year partnering with Musikfest and continuing our well-established relationship for providing festivalgoers with bus service,” said Tom Jebran, president of Trans-Bridge Lines. “Bus service allows Musikfest attendees to enjoy a cool, quiet ride to downtown Bethlehem without the need to look for parking or adding to traffic congestion in the area.”

The campus lot will be available starting Aug. 1, operating 5-11 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 11 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The shuttles will provide nonstop service to Shuttleplatz South (in the Wind Creek Bethlehem parking lot). Round-trip ticket prices are $9 per adult; $7 per child ages 3-12 when accompanied by a fare-paying adult; and free for children ages 2 and under.

In addition to the South Side satellite lot, a North Side lot is at Valley Center Parkway, 1525 Valley Center Parkway, Hanover Township, Northampton County.
