After roughly a decade of operation, HandHeldz restaurant in Bethlehem will close Saturday.

“We hope to see you one last time before we close our doors,” a Tuesday Facebook post stated.

Located at 518 E. Third St., the restaurant will close because “the current economic climate has made it increasingly challenging for a small family business like ours to continue,” the Facebook post said.

“We deeply appreciate your support during this time and over the last decade,” the post said. “We genuinely would not have made it this far without you all.”

The family of HandHeldz owner Anthony Hechme founded the business, originally called Hummus House, in 2014 at 1502 W. Chew St. in Allentown .

Hummus House moved to Bethlehem in 2021 and rebranded to HandHeldz in January of this year .

Menu items include falafel dishes, hummus, sandwiches, wraps, smoothies and salads.
