An investigation is underway after a small plane crashed at Long Island MacArthur Airport in Islip on Monday, killing a pilot and passenger.The FAA says a single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza A36 crashed near the end of the runway at the airport around 6:15 p.m.Suffolk County police say the small plane took off in the southwest direction and, according to a witness, was airborne and for some "unknown reason" attempted to return to the airport. From July 8 through August 2, the Floral Park-Bellerose Union Free School District is hosting a Summer Enrichment Program for its students. 3 firefighters hurt battling 4-alarm fire that burned through Hunts Point business
Three fighters were hurt while battling a four-alarm fire that burned through a Bronx business on Tuesday.The fire broke out in the business on Tiffany Street in the Hunts Point section just after 12:50 a.m.Heavy flames shot through the structure.It took hours for crews to get the fire under control.Three firefighters were taken to Jacobi Hospital.
