Chinesa Rusch has always loved elections. When she was 12 years old, her aunt took her door knocking for a candidate. Rusch, 34, began volunteering on campaigns as soon as possible — she says she was more excited to turn 18 and vote than she was to turn 21.

Steve Tinnen’s Plattsburg License Office
Thank you to Guy Speckman for the great article (Ponder the Thought column, June 26) on Steven Tinnen and his Plattsburg License Office. Steve Tinnen has been a business role model for me with my license office in Brookfield. We’ve been team members for the DOR/DMV annual meeting and have commiserated while lobbying for license office fee increase legislation. He is a fine person and it is a special gift when someone cares enough to write such a glowing article about one of our crazy businesses.

Chiefs could have a familiar contender steal free agent from under their nose
NFL training camps open later this month, and the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs could add a veteran to their secondary... unless they get beaten to the punch. The Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers have been somewhat joined at the hip the past five seasons. The teams have...

Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy Will Be a Bust
Many football fans were left shocked and scratching their heads when the Buffalo Bills traded down in the first round of the NFL Draft, with their rival the Chiefs of all teams. Chiefs fans rejoiced when this trade went down as the team was finally able to use first round draft capital on an elite receiving talent, and with Xavier Worthy’s record breaking 4.21 second 40-yard dash at the Draft Combine, on paper it seemed like a match made in heaven. Fans are hoping that Worthy will finally be the worthy successor to Tyreek Hill. After a handful of draft busts and arrests that promising receiver Rashee Rice has faced this offseason, Worthy has a prime opportunity to run away with the number one receiving role in Kansas City. However, I personally think that Xavier Worthy is not going to be the answer for the Chiefs receiving woes, and that he will be the next in line of first round receiving draft busts.

Sam Harrison is the newest member of the Rockhurst Men’s Basketball coaching staff. Harrison will serve as an assistant coach under new head coach Kyle Blackbourn. He helped lead the Dustdevils to the 2024 Lone Star Conference Tournament for the first time in school history, while winning a school-record 13 conference games. “We are thrilled to be able to add someone of Coach Harrison’s abilities to our program,” Blackbourn said. “Coach has an excellent playing and coaching background that includes being a part of three national championship teams. Chiefs Already in the Heads of One 2024 Opponent
As the defending champs, and back-to-back Lombardi winners at that, the Kansas City Chiefs know every team is hoping to knock them off of the top in 2024. However, there are surely some franchises around the league who think they're better than KC, or at least aren't as high on the Chiefs this year.

A Cardinals-Marlins trade that lays the foundation for Oli Marmol replacement
I'd like to preface this entire story by noting Oli Marmol's job is safe for now. The Cardinals hold the final NL Wild Card spot and are in prime position to add at the MLB trade deadline. There's little to worry about for Marmol, who has done a decent enough job turning the Cards season around after a suspect start. He deserves some of the credit for that.
