There is currently a gas leak in Prentiss on Lafayette Street near Columbia Avenue. The Piggly Wiggly and Family Dollar stores have been evacuated, as well as several store fronts on Columbia Avenue. Jackson State University is the first HBCU to receive recognition from the National Academy of Inventors (NAI). The NAI is a nonprofit that promotes academic inventors.
