MACON, Ga. — Former Councilman and Pastor Charles Jones — who died earlier this month — will be honored once again on Friday. Macon-Bibb County announced that they'll unveil street signs on Plant Street dedicated to Jones, according to a press release. The signs will be placed between Jeff Davis Street and Mercer University Drive. The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m.

Deputy D. Mobbs was notified of a FLOCK camera hit on a stolen vehicle in the area of Pio Nono and Mercer University Drive on June 9. The suspect later fled on foot from the deputy, leaving his young son behind. According to the report from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, Mobbs was patrolling the area when he spotted the vehicle on Poppy Avenue, and the driver, Kentavist Brakeez Jackson, of 6658 Sherrell Drive, sped off out of sight.
