Hesperia Man Dies Following Stabbing; Suspect Administers CPR, Claims Self-Defense
On the evening of July 8, 2024, at about 9:20 p.m., Hesperia Police Department deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 16500 block of Sequoia Street following a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, they found Daniel Cook, 62, administering Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) to Ruben Castillo, 59, who had multiple stab wounds. Castillo was quickly transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
