Community Connect: Weekend of July 4 - July 7
SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. — Here is your weekly guide to some events happening in the Northstate!. This free show is one of the largest in California with over 1,700 shells produced by Pyro Spectaculars. Food vendors will be on-site to provide drinks and snacks starting at 6 p.m. Be sure to arrive between 6–9 p.m., as the Sundial Bridge will be closed at 9 p.m. The fireworks show is scheduled to start at 10 p.m. The soundtrack for the show will begin playing on Today’s Country Q97 FM and Redding’s Classic Rock Red 103.1 FM at 10 p.m.
'This is the place to be': Californians flock to Lake Tahoe for Fourth of July to escape heat wave
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — People packed South Lake Tahoe for the Fourth of July, with many wanting to avoid theextreme heat hitting other areas of California. Triple-digit temperatures continue to impact parts of the state, including Sacramento. Mendocino 4th of July parade packs town
MENDOCINO, 7/4/24 — One person was arrested and one man was injured during a packed Mendocino 4th of July parade. Crowds stayed all day for music, vendors in Rotary Park and for the Flynn Creek Circus, which performed right after the parade ended, about three blocks from the parade route. There is no official estimate for parade attendees, but every street was full, cars were parked out along State Route 1, and it would be hard to imagine how any more people could fit into the town.

Heat wave bakes Bay Area, California for 4th day; hottest temps still to come
