Firefighters contain fire near Gas Point Road in Cottonwood, onramp closed
COTTONWOOD, Calif. — Firefighters have contained a 30-acre vegetation fire burning on the side of Interstate 5 near Gas Point Road in Cottonwood. The onramp onto northbound I-5 from Gas Point Road is currently closed while crews work to extinguish the rest of the fire. Cal Fire says they expect to be finished mopping up the scene by 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
