Heat returns with high pressure
PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - We have officially started what is expected to be an almost week long heat wave. Highs on Saturday reached the low 90s as high pressure settles in. Overnight, clear skies will allow for temperatures to fall around 60. The hot weather will continue Sunday with highs reaching roughly the mid 90s. The heat and dry weather will continue into the work with highs on Monday reaching the mid 90s which could possibly tie or break the previous record set in 2016. We could also tie or break the record on Wednesday of 98 degrees which was set in 1948. Due to the hot weather that is expected, make sure you take it easy and drink plenty of water.
