NAMPA - A Nampa UPS store received word from an Oklahoma UPS store that a resident in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma was trying to stop a shipment she’d sent to a resident in Nampa. She believed she had been targeted by online scammers who convinced her they were government officials, that her computer had been hacked, and that it was now associated with child porn and credit card fraud. The victim was persuaded to send money to a man in Nampa to verify that her funds and assets were not tied to illegal activity. As instructed, she got a cashier’s check for $230,000 and sent it to the Nampa man via UPS.

Aiming to Lower Gas Prices, Feds Boost Supply in Time for the 4th
WASHINGTON DC - Gas prices could be about to get cheaper, just in time for summer road travel, as about 42 million gallons of gasoline makes its way into the fuel market. In May, the Biden administration announced that the one million barrels of gasoline in the Northeast Gasoline Supply Reserve were up for sale. Contracts were awarded to five companies, and barrels were sold at an average of $2.34 per gallon. The gasoline was released to the contracted companies as of June 30.
