SEATTLE - Attorney General Bob Ferguson has announced that Washington state received a $123.34 million lump sum payment from opioid manufacturer Johnson & Johnson. The funds are the latest payments from litigation against companies that fueled the opioid crisis, and must be split evenly between state and local governments. Ferguson directed the funds must be used to combat the opioid epidemic.
Woman who Allegedly Fled From a Clarkston Police Traffic Stop in May Arrested Early Monday
CLARKSTON - A woman was arrested early Monday on an existing warrant and for an incident in May where the woman allegedly sped away from a Clarkston Police traffic stop. According to court documents, on the evening of May 15, a Clarkston Police officer was on routine patrol when a silver SUV was noticed turning east onto Bridge Street from 13th Street. The vehicle only had its running lights turned on, no tail or head lights. The officer turned around to conduct a traffic stop. As the officer caught up to the vehicle it pulled into the Clarkston Nom Nom store. The vehicle came to a stop at a gas pump and, as the officer exited his vehicle, the vehicle then allegedly took-off.
Man charged with raping woman at Yakima arboretum last year
YAKIMA - Prosecutors have filed a rape charge against a transient they say raped a woman in the Yakima Area Arboretum late last year. Mark Lee Tongate, 19, is also charged with felony harassment in connection with the December 2023 incident, as well as failing to register as a sex offender since his release from prison the previous month.
Agencies Initiate Lower Snake River Study
The Bureau of Reclamation and the Washington State Department of Ecology have initiated the Lower Snake River Water Supply Replacement Study and will host two virtual public meetings to share information and address questions from interested parties throughout the study area. Ecology, who has been tasked by the state legislature with investigating water replacement, is teaming with Reclamation to oversee the study.
Vancouver police fatally shoot man after reports of gun wielding along Andresen Road
Vancouver police fatally shot a man early Monday after responding to reports that he brandished a gun in central Vancouver. An officer was driving just before 1 a.m. in the 2800 block of Northeast Andresen Road when several people flagged down the officer to report a man had pointed a gun at them near the parking lot of McDonald’s, according to a news release from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, which is leading the shooting investigation.

CLARKSTON - A man known to local police for multiple drug offenses was arrested again in Clarkston on Friday. According to court documents, while Clarkston Police were conducting recent routine patrols in the 500 block of 9th Street, they observed a camper trailer where 53-year-old Bradley Foster was believed to be living. Foster is allegedly well known to police for multiple contacts and arrests, and is wanted on and active warrant in Idaho.
