House Fire in Northeast Moscow
MOSCOW - City of Moscow Volunteer Firefighters are working a house fire in the Northeast part of town. The Volunteers were called to the fire on Mountain View Road near F Street around 12:45 Friday afternoon. City of Pullman Firefighters have been called in to assist.

Large Wildfire Burning In Snake River Canyon At Nisqually John Landing In Southern Whitman County
A large wildfire is burning in the Snake River Canyon at Nisqually John Landing in Southern Whitman County. The blaze in Whitman County Fire District 14 was called in to Volunteers in Colton-Uniontown around 8:30 Friday morning. High winds quickly spread the fire from the riverbank across Wawawai Road and the railroad tracks into the canyon. The Whitman County Sheriff’s Office has evacuated campers from Nisqually John Landing and have closed the recreational site. A wildland firefighting helicopter that’s based at the Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport this summer is dropping water on the flames. Volunteers have ordered more aircraft to add to the aerial attack.
Man Arrested on Drug Trafficking Charge After LPD K9 Alerts Officers to Cocaine
LEWISTON - A Clarkston man was arrested on charges of trafficking cocaine on Wednesday in Lewiston. At about 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, a Lewiston Police Officer conducted a traffic stop on a Ford F150 at the intersection of 9th Avenue and 6th Street in Lewiston. The officer reportedly stopped the pickup after it was spotted driving the wrong way down a one-way street .
72-Year-Old man Arrested After Allegedly Robbing Tri-Cities Chase Bank
KENNEWICK - At about 11:47 a.m. on Thursday, police in Kennewick responded to a report of a bank robbery at a Chase Bank location. According to police, a masked male subject had reportedly entered the Chase location, near the intersection of Vista Way and N. Conway Street in Kennewick, and handed a note to a bank teller that demanded money. The teller complied with the request.

Cannabis industry concerned over new tax break for WA medical marijuana patients
(The Center Square) - Washingtonians with a medical cannabis card are eligible for a new tax break for marijuana purchases. The change, which took effect June 6, could encourage more people to get medical cards. Opponents say the incentive could potentially depress revenues from the cannabis tax, which brought in more than $470 million in fiscal year 2023, according to the Washington Liquor and Cannabis Board.
